What not to do

Do not push the fragment deeper, apply glue or force pliers into the keyway. Those attempts can make removal more difficult or damage the lock. Keep the loose pieces and describe where the key broke when requesting help.

How it comes out

Extractors hook the blade's cuts and draw the fragment straight out without damaging the wafers. Once it is out we cut you a fresh key on the spot and program it if the vehicle needs it.

Why it broke

A damaged blade, worn lock or repeated force can contribute to a break. After extraction, ask whether the lock also needs attention before using a replacement key. Tell us if the key was sticking before it snapped.

Can you get it out without replacing the lock?

Often, but the result depends on the break, the lock condition and whether anything has already been forced into the keyway.

Often yes, if you still have both halves. Bring them out to us.
